Celebrating women on International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s day. It’s strange to think that 100 years ago, women couldn’t even vote, and had to march for that right. As recent as the 50’s and 60’s, women seemed to have the broad job choices of housekeeper, secretary, teacher, nurse, and waitress! Even though women still only earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns at the same job, we have come a long way! Every day, I photograph women who inspire me. I meet surgeons, scientists, lawyers, social workers, writers, politicians, and others who follow their passion and in some cases opened doors for women coming up behind them.
